Action Bar
Many features in Alan can be accessed through the action bar. This makes Alan more efficient to use, especially for frequently used actions like starting or deleting a chat, creating a new knowledge database, or opening the experts overview.
You can access the action bar using a keyboard shortcut (Space
). To close the action bar, press ESC
.
How It Works
After opening the action bar, you see an overview of all the available actions you can execute. By entering a search term in the action bar's search field, you can filter specific actions. Use the arrow keys to select an action from the list, and press Enter
to execute the selected action.
For your information, an action's keyboard shortcut (if available) is also displayed in the action bar.
Search Modes
Besides the default action mode, the action bar provides additional search modes which can be accessed using keyboard shortcuts or by starting the search with a specific character in the action bar's search field.

Note that removing the initial character from the search field will switch back to the default action mode and vice versa.
Action Mode
This is the default mode. It shows all available actions. You can search for and select an action to execute.
Expert Mode
This mode shows all available experts. You can search for and select an expert to directly start a new chat with the selected expert.
Chat Mode
In this mode, all available chats are shown. You can search for and open a chat.
Help Mode
This mode allows you to search for and open help articles.
