Keyboard Shortcuts
Alan allows you to control the most important functions of the UI using keyboard shortcuts.

SHIFT+Space | Open the action list to search experts |
STRG+Space | Open the action list to search chats |
STRG+SHIFT+Space | Open the action list to search for help articles |
Backspace | Stop message generation |
ENTER | Select elements or submit inputs |
ESC | Leave the current input field |
SHIFT+ENTER | Insert a new line in message input fields |
d | Delete the current chat |
e | Open the Expert settings menu |
f | Open search (find) |
h | Open info and Help menu |
i | Select chat input |
m | Minimize sidebar |
n | Start new chat |
s | Open the settings menu |
v | Convert text copied to your clipboard to Markdown and insert into the chat input field |
To select elements on the page and interact with them using the keyboard, you can use the TAB
key or the SHIFT-TAB
key. They allow you to navigate between the different elements on the page and select them. Once an element is selected, you can interact with it using the ENTER
key.
Additionally, when a chat message is selected, the following keyboard shortcuts are available:

b | Bookmark the current message |
c | Copy the current message |
Important: Letter shortcuts only work when you are not in an input field. Press the ESC
key to leave an input field. Then you can use the shortcuts.
