Configuring the Tenant Settings

As admin, you can configure various tenant settings that affect the appearance and behavior of Alan.

Please note that these settings will be applied to all users in your tenant. All tenant settings are optional: they can be customized as needed for your organization; otherwise, Alan's default settings will be used.

Display Settings

With Alan's display settings, you can customize the appearance of Alan in your tenant.

Tenant Display Name

The tenant display name is the name that will be visible to all users in the footer of the sidebar within the Alan interface. This setting is important for branding purposes and helps users easily identify the system as belonging to your organization.

Please note that this name will be displayed in a tooltip instead when a logo is set, as described below.

Customizing the logo that appears in the Alan interface helps reinforce your tenant’s identity. You can upload different logos for the light and dark themes to ensure they are visible and aesthetically pleasing in both themes. If only one of the two logos (light/dark) is set, it will be used for both themes.

Best Practices for Logos

  • Use high-quality logos that are consistent with your organization’s branding guidelines.
  • For best results, use SVG logos.
  • For PNG logos, please note that the logo will be displayed with a size of 45 x 100 pixels. Logos with different sizes will be resized automatically. To avoid aliasing artifacts, consider uploading a logo in the actual display size.
  • Ensure the logo has a transparent background for optimal appearance.

Colors

With the color settings, you can customize the base and accent colors of your tenant. You can adjust four different colors:

  • Basic color for the light design
  • Accent color for the light design
  • Base color for the dark design
  • Accent color for the dark design

These colors are set independently of each other. This means that if you only adjust the accent color for the light design, for example, the default colors for all other cases will be retained.

The base color is used for most colored elements in the user interface. The color should be a dark shade; by default, this is a dark blue shade.

The accent color is used for highlighted elements in the user interface. This color should be a medium saturated shade; by default, this is a red-orange shade.

Chat Settings

Using the chat settings, you can customize the chat behavior of Alan in your tenant.

Default Model

If you set a default model, this model will be pre-selected for all users. Users can still change the selected model independently after this pre-selection.

Usage Notes

As admin, you can add usage notes for users in your tenant. These usage notes will be displayed to all users when starting a new chat and can be used, for example, to highlight your organization's Alan usage policy.

You can add usage notes in German and English. Once either the German or English note is set, it will be displayed to all users. If both notes are set, the note will be displayed in the user's preferred language.

A usage note consists of a title and text. The title is displayed unchanged, while the text body is interpreted as Markdown.
