Monitoring
As admin, you can monitor Alan usage in your tenant. The evaluation options vary depending on the billing model you have chosen.
There are two different billing models when using Alan:
- In the Pay-per-Use model, billing is based on the number of requests sent to Alan.
- In the Pay-per-User model, billing is based on the number of licenses purchased.
Current information on pricing and conditions can be found on our website at https://www.alan.de. For questions about billing and licenses, please contact alan@comma-soft.com at any time.
Requests sent
The number of requests made to Alan can be monitored in the admin menu.
This statistic is mainly relevant for customers who use the Pay-per-Use model. For these customers, it is essential to regularly monitor and manage quotas to avoid interruptions due to exceeded request limits. Therefore, you will see in the admin menu both the total number of requests made and your remaining quota. If you are approaching your quota limit, please contact our support at support@alan.de to increase your quota as needed.
For customers who use the billing model Pay-per-User, quotas are not a limiting factor, but the number of requests made can be an interesting statistic for administrators to monitor usage trends.
Licenses
Customers in the Pay-per-User model can monitor Alan usage through the assigned user licenses.
You can purchase different types of user licenses:
- Named-User Licenses are assigned to specific users, so that these users can use Alan at any time. These licenses remain permanently valid.
- Floating-User Licenses are shared by multiple users. When users are assigned an available floating user license, it remains reserved for them for a specified period. If a user does not use Alan for at least this time period, the license becomes available and can be assigned to other users.
Available licenses are assigned on a first-come-first-served basis when users log in to Alan. Therefore, the number of users who can use Alan at the same time is limited to the number of licenses you have purchased. If fewer users log in, licenses remain available.
The current license overview for your tenant can be found in the admin menu by navigating to the "Licenses in Use" subpage. There, you will see how many licenses you have purchased, how many licenses have been assigned to users, and which users have which licenses.
